Getting to Know Josephine Janson

Taking the title in the Boras Ladies Open, Janson has shown her strength this year already. As we head back to her home country next month Josephine will be one to look out for. We get to know our winner with a few quick questions.

What is your favourite activity you do when you want to relax?

Do other sports, but I also like to cook with my friends

How do you spend your time in the airports?

Watching a TV-series, like modern family or family guy

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

If you decide to spend the time, you might as well give it 100%

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?         

Snake

If you had one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Productive

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Somewhere I can ski!

What advice would you give to aspiring amateurs looking to turn professional?

To not rush it

Do you like cooking? If positive, what do you like / prefer to cook when you are at home with friends?

I like cooking and baking, I like to try new recipes.

Tell us something you hate doing. Why?

Paring socks, because it’s waste of time

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Hopefully playing a set of major championships

What has been you biggest golfing achievement?

When I decided to turn pro in 2013 and finished 4th at the Ladies European Tour q-school

What is your favourite golf course to play and why?

Karsten Creek, Stillwater Oklahoma, the rough can really get to you if you miss the fairway. The greens are always in great conditions and challenging, therefore the course is always a great test.

Age you started playing golf? Who/how did you get involved in golf?

At age 6, my dad played a lot so I followed him out on the golf course

At age 7

What is your best travel tip?

Drink a lot of water and be prepared for delays, with TV-series, movies and magazines

Your lowest ever round of golf? Where and when?

-10 during a high school qualifying at ljungbyheds golfklubb in Sweden.

What’s your favourite club in your bag?

My putter

What’s in your golf bag? And apart from clubs and golf balls?

Food and snacks!

What is your average driving distance?

230 meters

What tournament are you looking forward to most this season?

It’s always fun to play close to home. Haverdal and Borås I have already played, but the next close one is at Elisefarm golf club.

If you could pick a dream fourball partner who would it be and why?

Annika Sörenstam, she was the one I looked up to when I started playing golf

What is your Favourite distance to practise?

50m wedges

If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?

Spanish
