Janson Wins First LETAS Event in Sweden

Sweden´s Josephine Janson recorded her maiden victory on the LET Access Series at the Borås Ladies Open, with a one shot victory over Hungary´s Csilla Lajtai-Rosza.

The Swede held a six shot lead half way through the final round but a string of bogeys on the 10th, 13th and 15th holes and birdies from Lajtai-Rosza on the 8th, 10th, 11th and 13th saw the two players tied for the lead with three holes to play.

Janson birdied the 350 yard par four 16th to restore her lead and although Lajtai-Rosza had a birdie opportunity on the final hole from six metres to force a play-off, she was unable to convert it.

The Swede finished on a 6 under par total, one ahead of Lajtai-Rosza. Fellow Swedish players, Jenny Haglund (71) and amateur Emily Penttila (70) tied for 3rd place.

Scotland’s Michele Thomson recorded an even par round of 72 to finish in 5th place at two under par and moves to the top of the LETAS Order of Merit with 10,420 points.

At the close of the 2016 LETAS season, the top five players on the 2016 Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour, while players in sixth to 20th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2017.
