Besides holding the title of champion, receiving the cheque and an Omega watch sponsored by the ASGI, the winner of this week’s event will receive a special gift originating in the Swiss Alps and the military history of Switzerland.
The special purse is an accessory, useful as toilet bag, vanity or pencil case. The company producing these original bags is located in the Wallis, surrounded by the Swiss Alps. Originally it was founded as a shoemakers and saddlery in the 1950’s and now ten employees carry out the processes to produce these handmade bags.
The special gift is made of thick, water-resistant woollen material which is also known as “Loden”. Initially the woollen material was used for military sleeping blankets. In the 1980’s, modern sleeping bags replaced the old woollen ones, which are now used as basic material for producing this gift for the winner of the ASGI Ladies Open.
