Sweden’s Emma Westin moved into the lead after the second round at the Royal Belgian Golf Federation LETAS Trophy at Rinkven Golf Club, with impressive back to back 68’s.

Emma Westin, a winner on LETAS earlier this season at the Sölvesborg Ladies Open hosted by Fanny Sunesson had five birdies in her four under par second round,  matching her opening round of 68 for a total of 136. Westin carded one bogey on the 3rd hole before making birdies on the 7th, 11th, 15th 16th, and 17th holes.

Fellow Swede and current LETAS Order of Merit leader Isabella Ramsay is just two shots behind, at 6 under par, after her second round of 71. Ramsay, similar to Westin, will be chasing her second LETAS win of the season.

Overnight leader Melodie Bourdy of France scored a level par 72 in her second round to remain at five under par, three shots off the lead. Bourdy came from three shots behind in last week’s Pilsen Golf Challenge to force a playoff and will be hoping to go one better in this week’s final round.

England’s Kiran Matharu is two shots further back at three under par, followed by Scotland’s Laura Murray and Switzerland’s Melanie Maetzler at one under par.

The leading Belgian players in the field include amateurs Leslie Cloots, Manon De Roey and Elodie Van Dievot at four over par for their opening 36 holes.

Forty-one professionals and 8 amateurs made the final day cut, which fell at ten over par. Play will commence for the final round at 8.00am on Saturday morning.
