Vittoria Valvassori
Italy’s Anna Rossi and Vittoria Valvassori both opened with impressive 65´s, 4 under par, to tie for the lead in the first round of the Open Generali de Dinard at Dinard Golf, Saint Briac sur Mer in France.
Valvassori, in a rich vein of form after finishing 2nd at the OCA Augas Santas International Ladies Open, scored five birdies and one bogey in perfect conditions on a sunny and warm afternoon.
Rossi, winner of the 2012 LETAS Azores Ladies Open, enjoyed a bogey-free round with nines of 34 and 31, on the testing par 69 course.
Both Italians are being closely chased by France’s Valentine Derrey, winner of the recent LET Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, who shot an opening 66, 3 under par. The Frenchwoman is currently lying 3rd on the ISPS HANDA Order of Merit and will be in confident mood going into tomorrow’s round.
Nineteen year-old German amateur, Franziska Friedrich lies in fourth place after opening with a two under par, 67. Scotland’s Laura Murray, along with three French players, Ariane Provot, Eva Gilly and Justine Dreher are tied for 5th place at one under par, with opening 68’s.
The second round commences at 8.30am on Saturday morning.
