Getting to know amateur Franziska Friedrich from Germany

The 19-year-old rom Nuremberg in Bavaria received an invitation to play in her first LETAS event at the season opening Association Suisse de Golf and has since joined LETAS as an amateur member. Friedrich enjoyed her best finish this season at the OCA Augas Santas International Ladies Open, finishing in a tie for 10th place.

How did you start playing golf?

I was nine years old when I started. My family started at the same time. I have one brother, but he is nine years old. I play at Golfclub Abenberg.

What are your future plans?

I finished school last year. I will try to play only golf this year and then I will decide whether to go to college or play golf.

What is your goal for the 2014 season?

I will try to achieve the top five so that I can play on the Ladies European Tour without playing the qualifying school.

What do you like doing aside from golf?

I play the piano, and I like skiing and playing tennis. At piano, I’m not bad, but not really good.

What are your proudest achievements so far?

My handicap is Handicap +2.6. I was first at the French Ladies’ Amateur in 2012 at St Germain.

What is your dream?

My dream is to play on the LPGA Tour.
