A field of 98 players have assembled at Sölvesborg Golf Club in Sweden this week to compete in the Sölvesborg Ladies Open hosted by Fanny Sunesson, taking place on May 21-23.
Sunesson, best known for being Nick Faldo’s caddie from 1990 to 1999, will act as the ambassador for the tournament and will share her experiences with both the guests of the Pro-Am and also the players competing in the professional event this week.
The tournament, which features on both the LET Access Series and Nordea Tours, is the second of five events in Sweden and Norway this season and will see a large contingent of 51 Swedes teeing up. They include Isabella Ramsay, who won the Kristianstad Ahus Ladies PGA Open last week.
Competitors from 21 different countries worldwide will take part this week, including most of Europe and as far afield as the Colombia and Australia.
England’s Kelly Tidy, currently ranked tied 4th on the LETAS Order of Merit, along with Spain’s Maria Beautell and Melanie Maetzler from Switzerland, both tied in sixth position, will be in Sölvesborg.
The tournament week started with the Pro-Am on Monday where Sunesson mixed with the sponsors and shared experiences of caddying and her skills as tournament director at the Volvo World Golf Challenge in South Africa.
Play at the Sölvesborg Ladies Open hosted by Fanny Sunesson will begin at 8.00am from both the 1st and 10th tees.
