Marine Griffaut is back on the LET Access Series (LETAS) after competing at last week’s Jabra Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour.
Despite missing the cut, the French player, 24, manage to pick up one valuable nugget of advice from compatriot Celine Herbin.
“She said she doesn’t play if she doesn’t think she can win,” Griffaut said. “And I feel like that was a good way to say it. At the end of the day, you want to win.
“Last year, I had a tough year just trying to show up and do my best. This is not what I want to do. I want to win.
“I really want to come back to that mindset of like, okay, this is my strength, this is my weakness, let’s build something better with my weakness and be better at my strength. So, yeah, it really stuck in my mind and that’s what I wish to do.”
There is no better place for Griffaut to click into gear than at Golf de Montauban, where she has three top-10 finishes including winning the trophy in 2021.
She said: “It’s been a long time, but here is like my safe place, people are nice to me, I like the course, so I’m just going to play my game because it suits my game really well.
“Last week, I was unfortunately sick, I shot 13-over and I got a heat stroke because it was really warm. The goal is to shoot under-par all rounds at every tournament.
“If I am able to do it this week, then I think I would have a pretty good chance to have a good result. I want to have a good process, produce my best golf and get close to contention.”
