Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall had a tremendous 2024 season on the LET Access Series (LETAS) which culminated in securing both the Order of Merit winner and Rookie of the Year prizes.
Arriving to the tour three events in, Arwefjall immediately impressed with a top five at the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge before placing runner-up at the Santander Golf Tour-Avila.
In Spain, Arwefjall finished one shot behind Helen Briem, who matched the tour’s 18-hole record on the second day of 62 (-10).
So a win seemed inevitable for Arwefjall, and we didn’t have to wait long before it came in her home country at the Moregolf Mastercard Open.
Reflecting on that day, Arwefjall said: “I think the highlight of the season was my first win in Sweden.
“My parents came down and watched me on the last day and being able to win in front of a home crowd was amazing.”
From that point, Arwefjall changed her goal for the season. The Swede wanted to win the Order of Merit and there was no stopping her.
Just less than two months later, Arwefjall secured her second victory at the Destination Gotland Ladies Open, by keeping her cool on an extremely windy final day.
Arwefjall finished the season with two more top fives and one top ten but missed out on her goal of winning outside her home country.
Nethertheless, the San Jose State University graduate finished 175 points ahead of the rest of the field to win the coveted Order of Merit and prove herself to be a huge potential on the LET next season.
But Arwefjall has a chance to compete on the big stage before her full season gets underway at this year’s edition of the Hero Women’s Indian Open.
“India will be so much fun. I really thought Spain was going to be the last one and then when I was in Spain, I found out that I got an invite.
“I’ve never been to India so it will be super exciting and a great opportunity to try my game against the LET players before I officially start my season there.”
Golf is in Arwefjall’s genetics, with her father Niclas being a former professional player turned coach of Kajsa and others.
Yet it took our Order of Merit winner many years to choose between two passions: golf and rope skipping.
Arwefjall was successful in the latter by becoming the third best individual junior rope skipper in the world and then winning the Junior World Rope Skipping championship alongside her team ‘Skill’ which hold multiple Swedish, European and World Championship medals.
“I always had so much fun on the golf course, but I also did a lot of other sports, it was only at 15 that professional golf became the dream.
“My end goal is to be on the LPGA. The dream started for me in high school but I’m so excited for what’s next on the LET.”
“I’m excited for all the fun places we will visit and to go all over the world which will be great. I feel like it will be so much fun exploring, if I have time to do it.”
Arwefjall’s trademark phrase on LETAS is “I just want to have fun” and on the golf course she lives up to it.
We can’t wait to witness what the Swede will achieve on the LET in 2025 but for the next few months Arwefjall has a busy schedule.
“The first week of November I’m going to Hawaii for a week, I’m going to take some time off and then I will go back to San Jose to practice there.
“Then I go to Old Barnwell, for the Anika Development Program, where me and three other girls are allowed to stay to practice. So, I will be there until Christmas.
“I do love Sweden when it snows but I’m a warm weather girl at heart.”
