Anais Maggetti had the best week of her career at the Hauts de France Pas De Calais Golf Open where she finished tied second after losing out in the play-off to Australia’s Kelsey Bennett.
Maggetti has found great form recently after a top 20 at the Rose Ladies Open and last week’s runner-up position, now the 33-year-old is excited to finish the season strong.
“Last week was amazing. I didn’t expect to play because I had a stiff neck the day before the tournament. My whole focus was on protecting my neck and hoping that I could finish the round.
“I didn’t really think about the shots, and it worked out well.”
“Kelsey holed a great putt. There was not much I could do but I was happy to compete for the win.”
Maggetti is happy to tee it up in her home country and is excited to play on a familiar course and return to Lavaux.
“Like last week I just want to enjoy this tournament. I will take it one shot at a time, and I think a top 10 will be a good finish.”
Maggetti has played between LETAS and the LET since turning professional in 2012 and is best known on tour for travelling to every tournament in her camper van.
The Swiss woman currently sits 26th on the Order of Merit and is keen to improve her position in the final couple of events.
“The beginning of the season was a struggle because I didn’t have the time to practice a lot. I coach as well and that was my focus.
“I think after the middle of the season when I started to play a few more tournaments. I fell into a good rhythm and the season has been strong since.”
“My goal for the end of the season now is to finish in the top 32 and earn an automatic spot in the final stage in Q School.
“That would be a great end to a good season.”
The Lavaux Ladies Open starts on September 18th and will see 108 professionals tee it up over 56 holes for a total prize fun of £45,000.
