MAGNUSSON MAINTAINING POSITIVE VIBES FOR WEEK IN SWEDEN

Magnusson

Last week in Denmark, Sweden’s Anna Magnusson had two brilliant rounds of 66 to finish joint runner-up after a steady round of 71 on the first day.

The 2024 Terre Blanche Ladies Open champion is hoping to continue her fine form this week at Gränna Golfklubb.

“Last week, I just decided to do my own thing out there on the course. I stayed really patient throughout the last two rounds and it paid off.

“I knew the course from two years ago and it was great fun to play it again. This week presents a new challenge.”

Magnusson has played the course before but explained it was to many years ago to recall it.

“Playing at home won’t make a massive difference for me, this part of Sweden is not home. I have been here once before over 10 years ago and I don’t remember anything.

“I walked 12 holes of the course today and I think it’s very different from last week. The course is very Swedish, it’s just trees and soft greens.”

Magnusson, who earnt an LET card in 2022 on LETAS is now focussed on doing the exact same thing again after the 2023 LET season didn’t go her way.

The 29-year-old currently sits third on the LETAS Order of Merit with 847.00 points after four events.

“My goal this week is to just enjoy it out there and stay patient. The key is to keep my putting going like I did last week.

“Obviously I want to gain my full LET card back and I think LETAS is a great way to do it if you don’t like going to Q School, which I don’t.

“So, I will try to keep on playing some LETAS events this year and then we will see where it goes.

Magnusson currently has category 14 on the LET so is making the use of LETAS to boost that for next year.

“There are not a lot of LET events left for me, so I’m confident I’ve made the right decision.”

Magnusson tees off at 9:10am alongside the Netherland’s Nikki Hofstede and Sweden’s Josefine Nyqvist.
