Cvitan ahead in Sweden

                                                             Antonella Cvitan

Sweden’s Antonella Cvitan shot an opening round of 67 to take a one shot lead over fellow Swede Charlotta Sorenstam and Laura Sedda from Italy, after the first round of the Ingarö Ladies Open hosted by Elin Emanuelsson.

Cvitan, winner of the 2012 Samso Ladies Open, played solidly on a tough and breezy day, mixing an opening nine holes of level par (34) with three birdies on the inward half (33).

Sörenstam, who shot a two under par 68, is taking a break from work and plans to play 14 rounds of golf in the next 13 days. The 40 year-old Swede, who now resides in Orlando, is a past winner on the LPGA and also won the Ängsö Ladies Open on the Swedish Telia Tour in 1992 as an amateur.

Italy’s Laura Sedda is also tied for 2nd place, with her best opening round (68) of the season so far. Scotland’s Pamela Feggans and Galina Rotmistrova from Russia are a further shot back at one under par (69).
