- New territory for the LET Access Series
- 2024 schedule increases to 15 tournaments
The LET Access Series (LETAS) is delighted to confirm another tournament on the 2024 schedule with the addition of the Ladies Slovak Golf Open.
Slovakia previously hosted a Ladies European Tour (LET) event between 2010 and 2014, but it will be a new country for a tournament on LETAS.
The Ladies Slovak Golf Open will take place between 22-24 August at Tale Ski, Golf & Hotel resort in Brezno, Slovakia.
It will be a 54-hole stroke play tournament with a cut after two rounds taking place on the Gray Bear course.
The event will be an opportunity for the three Slovakian LETAS players Anika Bolčiková, Michaela Vavrova and Katarina Drocarova to tee it up in their home country.
“The story continues… this is the first thing that comes to my mind,” said Jozef Sotak, General Manager at Tale.
“I’m very happy to be part of LET in LETAS schedule again. After nine years, Tale Slovakia and its Gray Bear golf course will host the best players from LETAS.
“This event is great for Slovak lady players to play and compete, and to show how much better they are in European golfing competitions compared to the last time LET events were held in our country.
“I can’t wait to start and see who will be crowned champion of Slovakia in the Ladies Slovak Golf Open 2024!”
Zuzana Kamasová, who was the first Slovakian winner on the LET, said: “It is great news that professional golf is returning to Slovakia after ten years. During that time, I think our top players have gotten even stronger as we have more golfers at universities in the USA and also Anika Bolčíková, who has a full LETAS card for this year.
“We are a few steps further. It’s a great opportunity for our young players, who can experience what it’s like to play in a professional field and experience what it’s like to compete with elite players from abroad.
“When the news got out that LETAS was coming to Slovakia, I received many messages from active and former LET players who had great memories of the tournament when it was still on the LET.
“It warmed my heart knowing that the tournament, the golf course, the hospitality and the atmosphere stuck in so many players’ minds. I am so excited that we can show the world the quality and level of golf in Slovakia.”
Ana Larraneta, LETAS Tour Director, added: “We’re delighted to announce the addition of the Ladies Slovak Golf Open to the 2024 LETAS schedule.
“It has been ten years since the LET last played in Slovakia and we are proud to be able to have a LETAS tournament in the country. I would like to thank Jozef and his team for their commitment to the women’s game and we’re very excited for the event later in the year.”
At the end of the season, seven players on the LETAS Order of Merit will earn membership to the LET for 2025, an increase from previous years while players finishing in eighth to 32nd positions will be exempt into the final stage of LET Q-School.
