LETAS SEASON TO START AT STUNNING TERRE BLANCHE

The 2022 LET Access Series season will get underway with the Terre Blanche Ladies Open this week taking place from March 31 to April 2.

Golf de Terre Blanche will play host to the 2022 curtain-raiser with 96 players set to tee it up at the stunning French resort.

The venue was opened in 2004 and is home to two internationally renowned golf course – Le Château and Le Riou.

Terre Blanche also has The Albatros Performance Centre – a world-class facility which features a putting lab, driving range, Terre Blanche Golf Academy, the Biomecaswing Centre, and the TaylorMade Performance Centre for club fitting.

It is also a GEO certified venue and in 2018 was voted the Best Golf Resort in Continental Europe by the Golf World UK magazine.

The Terre Blanche Ladies Open has been a regular fixture on the LETAS calendar since 2010 with nine editions of the tournament being played.

Last year’s competition was won by Sweden’s Linn Grant who went on to secure status on both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour in December.

Agnes Sallandrouze explained why the role that Terre Blanche plays is so important in developing the women’s game.

“It’s a big opportunity for young players to be able to play on a Championship course and to train in the Albatros Performance Centre. It was very important to support LETAS back in 2010. It was a moment when women’s golf needed a second Tour,” she said.

“In 2010 the field wasn’t full and since then it has always been one of the most successful events on LETAS. It is always a pleasure to be hosted by such an amazing and motivated team here in Terre Blanche. The FFG, LETAS and Terre Blanche team are working towards the same goal, which is to continue to develop women’s golf in Europe.”

LETAS Tour Manager Ana Larraneta added: “We are thrilled to be back in Terre Blanche at this beautiful resort and golf course. What a great way to start our 2022 season. We are also looking forward to collaborating once again with the French Golf Federation who have been supporting the LET Access Series since the beginning of the Tour in 2010. This year will see the top six players on the 2022 LETAS Order of Merit earn membership to the Ladies European Tour in 2023 and it all starts here at Terre Blanche.
