France’s Charlotte Liautier played on the LET Access Series when she was an amateur and in the early stages of her professional career.
The 22-year-old made appearances in 10 LETAS events in 2021 recording four top-10 finishes as well as securing victory in the season finale – the Santander Golf Tour Barcelona.
After just missing out on automatic qualification to the LET through the LETAS Order of Merit, she headed to Q-School and earned her full card by finishing in the top 20.
The Frenchwoman has had a good start to life on the LET with a T16 finish at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open and T50 at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International, where she also made a hole-in-one in the first round.
We spoke to Charlotte after her great start to the 2022 LET season…
What was it like playing at the season opener in Kenya?
Kenya was a good start. I was happy to play like that and to begin in the professional world, it is not bad. I would like to improve my game and the season has officially begun now. I was happy with that result.
How did LETAS help prepare you for life on the LET?
LETAS helped me to know what the professional world is like. Ana [Larraneta] helped me and I thank her for that. It is a good start when you want to get into the professional world. The courses are very different, but you can play with other professionals and get a feel for that.
What do you remember from your win?
To win every time is good, but at the end of the season it is very nice because you finish with a good result, and you can keep it in your head and your mind going into the winter. I don’t actually remember much about the win!
How was Q-School?
I was one spot from automatically qualifying. I had a good mindset, but I was quite stressed at Q-School because if you play bad for one week you can miss your card. I just tried to focus day per day because it was long, we played five rounds in the Final Qualifier, and I will see after that how I was doing, and it will be okay.
What would you say to anyone playing on LETAS?
I think if you want to get your card on the LET and keep it every year, you need to win on LETAS because it is a little part of the professional world. It gives you that experience and prepares you. By winning on LETAS, it shows you know how to win a professional tournament.
