15-YEAR-OLD AMATEUR LOUISE UMA LANDGRAF VYING TO DEFEND HER TITLE

Louise Uma Landgraf

Last year, French amateur Louise Uma Landgraf took the tournament by a storm when she clinched a play-off victory against fellow French professional Charlotte Liautier and the Netherland’s Pasqualle Coffa.

Landgraf was just 14 years old at the time and wrote history as the youngest winner in women’s professional golf.

Back to defend her title this year, Landgraf is excited to play the stunning La Riou course again

“It is going to be fun and the weather is great.” Landgraf said. “I’m excited to hopefully play three rounds this year. I didn’t quite get to test myself last year so I’m excited to play three rounds and score as low as possible.

“There are obviously nerves going into every tournament but I’m an amateur and there really is nothing to lose.”

One year on from her history making win, Landgraf still can’t believe it.

“It was incredible, I still cannot believe it sometimes and I’m still in shock but its nice to be known for it.

“It also brings expectations, so I am trying to cope with my nerves and the key is to try and play my best.”

Last year, Landgraf couldn’t have done the win without her dad, Marcland on the bag and he returns to caddy for her this year.

“We have a good connection and I think he knows my game well. We work well together.”

Landgraf gets her 2024 campaign underway alongside France’s Charlotte Liautier and Dutch player Marit Harryvan.
